Whitewater Rafting Instructor

Rate of pay: $25.00 Hour
Job description: IWE is looking to hire experienced and qualified Whitewater Rafting Instructors to lead groups on outdoor sport and recreational trips for the 2021 raft season. To also advise on safety and regulations, plan trips, prepare meals, practice low impact/no trace land use. To attend to persons with special needs, provide outdoor, wilderness and wildlife instruction. Handle complaints, prevent legislation violations. Involved in the leading and training of guides (inexperienced) on a daily basis. Must have previous trip leading experience on big volume Class IV rivers. Strong Class IV whitewater kayaking skills an asset. Experience on the Clearwater River is preferred. First aid, CPR and SRT certification required. Applicants will be considered for their leadership style, personality, customer service, experience and reference checks.
Skills and Requirements: Must be a current ticket holder of First Aid and CPR Certificates and have Swift Water Rescue Training. Operate and Maintain Water Craft, Operate Communication (including emergency) devices. Maintain Equipment. Must have Class IV & V big volume rafting experience and must have strong Class IV & V big volume kayaking experience and safety kayaking skills.

Job description: We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person that wants to join our 2022 team. We all have one goal - giving our clients an outstanding whitewater adventure in the most safe, professional & fun way - simply, the time of their lives! Our shuttle drivers are responsible for prepping trips with the guides, meeting and greeting clients, taking photos and video documenting the tours, setting up lunch and snacks, post-trip clean-up and safely driving our clients to and from the river.
Skills and Requirements:
- must have have the minimum of a Class 4 drivers license (or be willing to get it)
- open and enthusiastic person
- &some photography experience an asset
- be keen and knowledgeable on the area history and flora/fauna
